newcastle upon tyne (uk) based turquoise blue presents a very special release featuring four original tracks from non-other than kostas tassopoulos – better known to many as ekkohaus. for those unfamiliar with turquoise blue, the label has been causing quite a stir ever since its first release in 2011, featuring music from household names including laura jones, kris wadsworth, dj w!ld and djebali, among many others. it was clear from early releases on heavyweight labels including morris audio, 2020 vision and liebe detail that this was a man with a big future but, to many, it was ekkohaus album release in may 2013 that defined him as a major player in the game. released by matthias tanzmann’s moon harbour recordings, the album topped many a download chart and was a firm favourite with djs around the globe. this is a landmark release for turquoise blue, which started life as a digital only label but after starting to press vinyl in september 2012, the label has gone full circle with this, their debut vinyl-only release. not only does this release sound incredible but it looks sublime and is as much a collector’s item as it is a dj tool. a limited run of 300 will be pressed on heavyweight, clear marbled vinyl.

kenneth christiansen & dennis bøg presents pattern repeat part 7. after a litle break pattern repeat is back with a new ep. this time pattern repeat delievers 2 very powerfull techno tracks with heavy chords and dubby elements. kenneth is also running the labels echocord and echocord colour, and dennis is known from his baum label, and his resoe releases. its still all about dub-techno but with a heavy metallic sound that defines the project pattern repeat. this one will be in red coloured vinyl. both tracks will be perfect for the peaktime hour.

delft is delivering more sick acid tunes! this time its delft s chief la-4a on duty and giving us some advanced modern acid jackers. we cant get enough of some good old traditional tracks, but its always extra exciting to hear someone who can give it a new contemporary twist. 4th release on delft records and from the first release (cat-000) its spot on! recommended.

classic is incredibly pleased to announce that a certain man of the moment has joined the classic family. *one* was brought to the attention of classic when it featured on vinyl only release late last year. ears pricked up and more information was sought. who was this man from nowhere - producing music that was modern yet soulful, funky - and best of all coupled with his own vocal talents. luke solomon then championed not only *one*, but the general excitement surrounding something that ticked all of his boxes. reminiscent of the old classic sound that reminded him of iz and diz, losoul and the like… seven was approached and not only offered classic *one* to re-release, but two brand new cuts featured exclusively here. an ep aptly entitled *friends* is the freshest thing that has been around for some time - and classic are proud to welcome seven into their ever expanding family.

hello - were the nuclear family. weve had roots in glasgows electronic music scene for a while, and weve released music separately in the past, under a variety of names, but none of that is too important. for the past year or so, we’ve been shacked up in a tiny southside studio making house and techno that we hope will stand the test of time.

sol asylum is back with their third release, this time around a various artist ep featuring tracks from friends and family members dana ruh, miss jools, and patrice meiner. this solid collection delivers a heavily swung slice of style and class without ever losing its straightforward dance floor attitude. the ep gets a proper start with dana ruhs >overcome<.a modern take on forward thinking house music with a cleverly swinging groove, pulsating filtered synths and provocatively soul stirring voices. all the rhythmical elements mold and evolve the track into a vibrant and energetic gem. next stop on our journey brings us to patrice meiners >uva< a broken beat dedication to his mother with fiery snares, atmospherically floating ghost like synths, intricately pitched hi-hat patterns and a tightly woven groove that is the signature sound weve all come to know and love from him. last but certainly not least is our trusted resident of sol asylum miss jools with >calamity cloud<. mysterious voices speak to us with an infinite realm of hovering synths, a playful but complex groove, driving hats, then a finely crafted layout brings us to alternate states between light and darkness creating a perfect balance that reminds us of a cloudy berlin day.

traumer aka romain reynaud has been plugging away of late with a string of fresh material surfacing in 2014, much of which has seen the blossoming producer pick up support from the likes of mr.g, franck roger, and doc martin to name but a few. here we see romain join the roster of loco dices desolat imprint. across the double pack we see traumer skilfully explore a range of styles, opening cut hoodlum eases us in nicely with a bass-driven, funk-infused groove fuelled by jazzy melodies and gritty drum sounds.

with their cinematic music and john carpenters cover albums, we wondered when a real soundtrack by zombie zombie is going to be out? well, here it is now , the two zombies cosmic neman and etienne jaumet finally sign their first film music for the first feature film from director , narimane mari, loubia hamra (bloody beans), to be released in spring 2014. and we found them there, where we do not expect, because it s not a horror movie, but a free movie, a journey of a group of children from a district of algiers during the war of algeria, who becomes aware of life and death.director narimane mari talks about her experience with zombie zombie and creation of the soundtrack for her movie:-i really wanted the music to be as blood flow of images and that is what it is. sharp, dull, full of strange noises, inner or surging, harmonious or disturbed by noise disorder, which allows to read beyond the visual narrative. we are in the bowels of childhood and it shakes us up when we let our-selves be takeover by the living: the profusion. i didn’t want to make a movie where psychology and reason rule and dominate until our senses are weakened, but a movie that we experience with the body and it is them who made it possible, this total immersion.

drawing from an acute sense of what could perhaps be described as deep minimalism-turned-into-a-quasi-equatorial-feast, full of holes gradually unfolds and weaves its fabrics in ways that are evocative of the disparate sensations and heady feelings one might run into in a proto-ritualistic setting, whilst xdbs recontextualisation routes a more linear but no less absorbing excursion.

eddie c is known for his work with endless flight, jiscomusic, red motorbike, 7 inch of love and and and. lumberjacks head honcho marcel vogel is happy to welcome him after wrecking many a party together. get it together already found its way into marcel s boiler room set. and what it is was rescued from a batch of neglected older tracks that eddie had made early on in his carrer but is actually a stone cold banger that s tearing apart every dancefloor.

back in february 2013, shortly after their impressive first release as a label, music is love launched a double va entitled lovebox: an 8 track double-vinyl release that included tracks from 8 talented up-and-coming producers on their roster. by innovatively previewing the producers in this way, the label laid the foundations for what listeners could expect for each artists subsequent eps. the artists who released on it were not hyped up flavours of the month, but rather emerging talents who sat perfectly with the labels musical ethos - quality and original underground house with a contemporary, dynamic feel. since the va, the label have gone from strength to strength and have firmly established themselves as one of the most brightest house labels around in the uk.

dj raw sugar is a native of berlin, but has done a 6 year stint in new zealand and now resides in perth. his productions are deep and raw house beats mixed with jazz, boogie, disco, funk and soul. over the years he has put out music via other peoples labels like gazeebo international, midnight riot and ism, but is now taking matters into his own hands via love sexy records - a label he has just started. the debut release kicks off with a piece from the man himself! it s a sweet and sultry slice of disco. inkswel, also australian based, takes up remix duty taking the track in a more club-ready direction. slow goodness all over!

second release of the gost zvuk label, strictly focused on the contemporary russian electronic scene. this joint was made by aem rhythm-cascade also known as dada ques and many other monikers. locked in his studio in st. pete he built his path from a beatmaker to a fundamental composer exploring the acoustics, sound synthesis and sampling techniques. it is hard to relate this music to a certain genre, but you can definitely hear the quality and deepness, spiced with the original slavic touch. simple and raw these multilayered symphonies bring out the new breed of russian composers backed up by their prolific heritage.

fast-rising glaswegian producer boom merchant is a man whose sound is hard to pigeonhole, but is draped in rich and sinewed quality regardless. further indication of the glaswegian scenes propensity for churning out top-quality producers, he brings his stylish way of working to the fore once more here on his recent outing for his own label, the burgeoning tribal pulse - itself a medium for dizzyingly eclectic fare.

gene hunt is a prolific producer with an un-mistakable sound of his own. and although an originator of the acid house sound from chicago, he certainly didnt stop there. his music has naturally evolved over the years, often incorporating more mature melody and rhythm structures, but always in time with a proper underground style dance track. these tracks are a perfect fit for the direction and vision of the inner shift music label as well, and for this reason we are pleased to present you with planted seeds by gene hunt.

the idea behind lbl is very simple. we keep getting sent music that we really want to own on vinyl, so weve decided to start pressing these tracks ourselves. everything we have scheduled has a club feel, but past that we think youd be hard pushed to pinpoint a specific style which dominates our releases. for our first release we have music from scott fraser (crimes of the future), people get real (join our club), jamie blanco (ess o ess) and joonipah (nixwax). we could list a whole load of meaningless genres to describe the music to you (machine house, neu acid, bashment techno and hi tek soca) but we think its best you just listen and make your own mind up. currently, all lbl releases will be limited to a pressing run of 300 copies

of unsound mind is the new label from dj skream and is set to be an outlet for up and coming new producers hes feeling and thinks people need to know about-. first in the release schedule is brendan neal aka motions (a producer from canada but now residing in london) who has previously released records as one half of the production duo grown folk and also recently as motions on la label body high. here he delivers three solo tracks consisting of deep and melodic house, the a side ‘fading’ received heavy club testing by skream in ibiza at the end of last summer and was the catalyst for him to sign the 12inch. fielded and home is away from here follow in the same vane and complete the release from this up and coming talent who is sure to have a bright future

after some harder releases on trapez within the last months, alex under focus on his trademark crossover techno, not easy to label into an any specific genre but a sound full of personality. a1. bailar pegados is the kind of track that herbie hancock would have carried in his vinyl case to every club. a2 brings the listener into a robot party at the blue oyster, the club that gives name to track on b side la ostra azul an arpeggiated retro futuristic bomba. 100percent profits of the sales are donated by the cmykmusik foundation to organizations related with children and music.

responsible for organizing the moments event series throughout berlin, i/y is releasing an ep celebrating their collaboration with all the artists who performed and adhered to the moment s concept in the last few years. releasing music from everyone was impossible, but the 4 tracks produced by voiski, blind observatory, schloss mirabell, and i/y give a solid idea of what moments is about.

luckyme are very proud to present the ‘rosario ep from s-type.s-types rise started in spring 2012. emerging, gleaming and show-stopping from rustie’s seminal bbc essential mix was a track called ‘billboard’ from a new producer that was part of the luckyme family as far back as his teenage years. the track had soundcloud and blog commentators looking around for the hugest most galactic superlatives for this ‘superhero’ music. as skyscraping as the biggest us hip hop instrumentals but born of the ferment of glasgow’s world-wowing club world, it made it into end of year ‘best of’ polls as well as the dj sets of rustie, tnght,and benji b. s-type aka 27 yo scot bobby perman started getting recognised down the shops glasgow. he was catapulted onto a 30 + date us tour and found himself in the studio with kindred spirits araabmuzik and baauer. there were rumours of national electronic goods adverts in south korea and s-type tracks in the running for inclusion on drakes nothing was the same album. on 19th sept 2013, the buzz started all over again as luckyme family member Éclair fifi dropped a new s-type tune ‘rosario’ on her bbc radio 1 in new djs we trust show. now luckyme can announce the wait is over. lm017 aka s-type’s ‘rosario’ ep is coming out on 16/6/2014. ‘rosario’ sets the scene with a 2 min intro called ‘outside (inside)’, featuring rustie and yc the cynic, a rapper from hunts pont, the bronx that xxl called ‘one of the most promising artists in recent years’, the complex wordplay sounding perfect over bobby’s wide screen arrangement. ‘franco’ is a fierce club banger with plenty of his signature chord work. ‘lost girls’ stunts and fizzes in the way only an s-type track can. for the outro ‘inside (outro)’, bobby’s sweeping instrumental sets the scene for long island mc (and one time flipmode squad member) roc marciano, who sharply describes the beat as ‘historic’. s-type addicts, he’s back. early dj support from hudmo, kode 9, baauer, joker, rl grime and jackmaster.

end of dayz is back with this powerful release by aiken. the original tracks are hard times that is a driving techno madness track, and impatient more hypnotic and deep, but intense as well. the remixes come from the hands of cleric and jared wilson. the first one is a destroyer techno bomb and the second is a 90 s flavored house gem. supported by: laurent garnier, nx1, dj deep, benjamin damage, thomas hessler

eduardo de la calle (analog solutions, semantica, non series, mule musiq tokyo, cadenza and more) now runs his new imprint called soul person. the record label has been created to unleashi a new side of eduardo under the new sequential circuits moniker. it shall see the light in a continuing series of references in 2014. its a risky project with hard touches but also melodic and with hook on!

ole utters *odsbodkins!* while martin styles his hair. the two decided to work on their next monaberry releases five years ago and the result is monaberry 23. 23? this can only be a good sign, dont you think? *odsbdodkins* confirms its name without wasting a second and going directly for your finest dancemoves. a groovey guitar firework is ignited which illuminates the dark temple of dance. no other but the boys from hanne & lore have taken on the hard task to deliver a remix of the title track. they do not disappoint with their rework which makes you lose it on the dancefloor. *frdy* and *indimushy* come as desert. these two tracks get into your head fast and refuse to leave it ... *frdy* is the perfect dancefloortool, which leaves not a single wish unsatisfied, while *indimishy* keeps the whole ep together, not allowing for any sound to drift away.

the already 4th production of the record label freakadelle, founded in 2013, represents a very special release this time. the vinyl only release includes 6 exclusive tracks of 6 well-known personalities from 6 different nations. all of the artists have performed as live acts or djs at freaksound klubhaus in the last two and a half years. hence, the record also embodies a unique memento of a moving time in salzburg s club history and subculture. the release unites various styles of house and techno, but at the same time proves to be a lively mixture of young emerging talents as well as renowned artists.

keeping in line with the trademark birdsmakingmachine sound, comes the fifth release on their self-entitled label, bmm 004. with a more straight-to-the-point approach than its predecessor, the ep starts off on the dance floor, with rumbling bass lines and heavy metallic snares juggling with effects-laden delicacies on the a1s >ahora vengo<. the arrival of >ash but not arthur< on the a2 calms things down bit and takes the listener for a gentle journey through ambient pads and cleverly swinging hi hats, while on the flip, things get a little more bouncy in >oscars critical jack<, which is mostly due to the fact its main ingredient – the solid playful bass line – blends effortlessly with the higher frequency spices, keys, strings and rhythmic parts. the end credits roll down with >bonfume<, another relatively smooth yet jacking swinger that could either be used to kick it up a notch in a warm-up set or be danced to while finding yourself at an afterhour.

fantastic voyages new series, soul city, explores the music being produced in key centres in the early 1960s, when r&b was evolving into the style that was soon widely referred to as soul. having kicked off the series in detroit, we now turn our attention to the big apple. special backstock

fantastic reissue of paradises deep grooves seminal * i love ep* produced by nelson * paradise* roman. originally released back in 91, this is one of the true holy grails of deep house. kicking things off is the incredible deep hypnotic groove of * i love*, which became a nyc sound factory classic in the hands of junior vasquez as well as receiving heavy rotation on the underground house scene. the next two tracks * hypnotic flute* and * trance dance* are both excellent but the other really outstanding track is the deep floating * inner mind* with its lush haunting synths and intricate rhythms. top quality house music at its best!

its a great pleasure to announce the first release from mexican duo 4004 & sebastien vorhaus. they might not run as fast as speedy gonzales, but their music is super hot, deep and raw! yeah you know we like that at quintessentials…… 4004 & sebastien vorhaus work together as well as solo and their work has already been signed by the almighty faces records (pablo valentino and mcde). plus they also set up their own label, vicario musique, so these are definitely names to watch. viva mexico!
